Tiger Class - Year 4

Tiger Class

Welcome to our class webpage. Here you will find some useful information and links about what we have been up to. Tiger Class is a Year 4 Class. Tiger class teacher is Mrs Mack, supported by Mrs Ilyas. Mrs Ilyas will be taking the class whilst Mrs Mack is on her Planning, Preparation and Assessment time. Your child may be supported by other staff for interventions throughout the week too.

PE kits should be worn on a Friday.

Reading books should be brought in on a Tuesday to be swapped. Spelling books should be returned on Thursday and a spelling test will take place then. Spellings can be learnt using any method outlined in their books. Spellings will go out on a Friday.

Times tables need to also be practiced every week using Times Tables Rockstars. In Spring half term we will be revising the 6, 9, 7 and 11 times tables. See the leaflet below for more information.

Thanks for your continued support,

Mrs Mack

Multiplication Times Table Check

In June, the children in year 4 will be taking part in a Multiplication Times Table Check which is statutory for all pupils. The purpose of the test is to determine if pupils can fluently answer a random selection of multiplication questions up to 12x12. These will take place on online devices, this year we will be trailing using Ipads but the children can select to use a computer if they are more familiar it. The test asks children to read and type the answer to the questions in 6 seconds. Please see the attached brochure for more information or catch Mrs Mack or Mrs Prescott.

Have a look at what we have made in Design Technology in Autumn.

Computing - In computing in Autumn we were learning how to produce a podcast. We talked about input and output devices and tried using the Ipads to record different sentences linked to our English and Science.

Have a look at our mountain landscapes we completed in Art in Spring term. I love the colours the children chose and how they tried to create different perspectives.

Class Dojo

At Great Harwood Primary School we love using Class Dojo. It is a behaviour management tool that connects teachers, parents and children and allows us to share their learning and classroom experiences. Each child has a profile with their own avatar which is a monster.

Your child should know all these spellings by the end of the year and weekly spelling tests will be based around these and their spelling patterns.
